Openings for junior, mid, and senior level personnel with Ada, C, or C++ experience.
Must have Engineering, Math, or other Scientific Degree and be eligible for a SECRET clearance.

Tasks will include working on Missile Defense Programs that include Distributed Interactive Simulations and Hardware-in-the-Loop components.
The simulation components include Radar, Missile, and Launcher.

These tasks includes all aspects of SW Life Cycle (Requirements, Design, Code, Integration, and Test). Missile Defense simulation experience is considered a plus.

Technical Writer

Location: Huntsville AL

Job Summary:

Provides technical and administrative assistance for delivery documentation, including the review of work products/deliverables for correctness, adherence to design concepts and to user standards

Review of program documentation to assure government standards/requirements are adhered to; formatting of documents; and other assistance in the development of SLM Documents.
Coordinates/oversees development of a technical writing style guide to establish sound writing practices.
Reviews deliverables and work products in the draft stage to provide recommendations for improvements to authors to include readability, comprehension, accuracy, completeness, redundancy, and possible contradictions.
Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel authoring technical and non-technical deliverables, including the review of work products/deliverables for comprehension, adherence to writing standards; review of program documentation to assure government standards/requirements are adhered to, coordinate with the Project Manager and/or Quality Assurance Manager to facilitate problem solution and user satisfaction.
Review, edit, and format documentation.
Participates in peer reviews, Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), inspections, and other activities that support establishing and maintaining quality on the program.
Verifies that deliverable products fulfill contractual requirements and meet SBA standards for quality.
Maintains QM records and documentation.
Reports weekly status to the relevant team leaders. Identifies problems and brings them to supervisors attention with sufficient lead time to avert crises. Also identifies changes in scope or work effort that could result in budgetary overrun or the missing of delivery dates.
Works effectively as part of a team and seeks to support the team’s goals above individual goals.
Continually broadens own technical, functional, and industry skill base.
Notifies supervisors/escalates issues when problems or issues arise that are outside of normal scope of area.

Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship Required.
Excellent writing skills.
Strong technical editing experience in IT system documentation such as design documents, requirements specifications, user guides, etc.
Expertise with MS Word and MS Excel including the use of templates, macros and style formatting.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with multiple teams/others

Education: Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
